"I was consistently scoring 6.0 in Writing Task 2. After using the AI feedback for about three weeks, I noticed it kept flagging the same things: I wasn't giving enough specific examples, and my conclusion paragraphs were too vague. I started fixing exactly those two things on every submission. My actual IELTS score improved to 7.0 in Writing. The four-criterion breakdown is what made this click for me - I finally understood which part was dragging my score down rather than just getting a number with no explanation."

"Speaking feedback was useful, but I found some pronunciation suggestions inconsistent for my Indian accent specifically. The fluency analysis was spot on - it correctly told me I pause too long when switching from one idea to another. I practised Part 2 cue card answers daily for two weeks and my Speaking went from 6.5 to 7.0. I still think a human tutor would catch accent-related issues more accurately, but for the price and availability at 11pm, this is genuinely good."

"I had failed IELTS twice before I found mockDe. Both times my Writing hovered around 5.5 and I had no idea why because my essays felt complete to me. The AI identified that I was describing information instead of analysing it in Task 1, and that my Task 2 thesis was too broad to be properly supported in 250 words. Two months of daily writing with AI correction and I got a 6.5 in Writing on my third attempt. I cried when I saw the score. This platform genuinely changed my IELTS story."

"The Writing feedback was helpful, but the Listening test library felt small after I completed around 15 tests. I started seeing repeated audio clips in different test sets, which reduces the value for someone preparing intensively. The analysis of which question types I get wrong was accurate and useful - I am genuinely weak at Multiple Choice and the platform confirmed that with data. I hope they add more listening sets. Good foundation, needs more content variety for serious test-takers."

"I am a software engineer and I work nights. Human tutors were never available when I needed them. mockDe's AI tutor let me practise at 2am when I finished work. My goal was 8.0 for a UK Skilled Worker visa. I used the platform for six weeks focusing mainly on Writing and Speaking. Got 8.0 in Reading, 7.5 in Listening, 7.0 in Writing, and 7.5 in Speaking. The roadmap after each Writing submission showing me exactly which sentences cost marks was something I've never seen in any other IELTS product."

"I expected General Training material. I realised quite late into my preparation that most content is Academic-focused. For the writing prompts specifically, I found only Academic Task 1 graphs and charts - I needed formal and informal letter practice for GT. The customer support was responsive and told me GT writing is in development. Good platform for Academic test-takers, but if you are sitting General Training, double-check what you need before subscribing."

"Three months from 6.5 to 8.0. I know that sounds dramatic so I'll be specific. I practised one Writing Task 2 every single day. Every single day. The AI feedback told me something new on almost every submission for the first month. I was over-using complex sentences that were grammatically wrong - the Grammatical Range criterion was pulling my score down. Once I focused on using simpler structures correctly rather than complex ones badly, my Writing jumped. The Speaking Part 3 practice was excellent for the abstract discussion topics I struggle with."

"Mobile experience worked but was not as smooth as using it on my laptop. The text editor for writing submissions occasionally lagged on my phone. I still submitted every practice essay on mobile because I commute 90 minutes each day and that is when I practise. The AI feedback came through clearly even on mobile. My Writing improved from 6.0 to 7.0 in about five weeks of daily practice. Minor UX issues but the core product is strong - I'd rather have excellent AI feedback with a slightly laggy editor than smooth UX with shallow feedback."

"I am a nurse preparing for NCLEX and IELTS simultaneously. I had a 9.0 Speaking target because some US licensing boards require it. The AI examiner Sarah is remarkably accurate - she flagged my pronunciation of 'deteriorate' and 'physiological' which are words I use constantly in clinical contexts but apparently mispronounce in ways that affect intelligibility. I corrected those specifically and got 8.5 in Speaking. Not quite 9.0 but much higher than my 7.0 starting point. The medical vocabulary section of the Speaking practice was a bonus I hadn't expected."

"The Writing feedback is good but it sometimes flags correct grammar as an error. I had a sentence using a proper subjunctive construction and the AI marked it as grammatically unusual - it was technically correct formal English. I checked with my English teacher. This happened maybe 3-4 times in two months of use. The majority of the feedback was accurate and actionable. My score went from 6.5 to 7.0 in Writing. I just wish the grammar engine were a bit more nuanced for less common but valid constructions."

"I used three other IELTS apps before this one. The difference is the depth of feedback. Other apps tell you your essay is a 6.5. mockDe tells you your essay is a 6.5 because your Task Achievement is 6 (you only answered one part of a two-part question) and your Lexical Resource is 7 but your Coherence is 6 because your paragraphs don't have clear topic sentences. That level of specificity changes how you study. I went from 6.5 to 7.5 in Writing in six weeks because I knew exactly what to fix."

"I found the Reading test difficulty inconsistent. Some tests felt like genuine Academic difficulty, others felt easier than past Cambridge papers. My score predictions from the practice tests were about 0.5 band higher than my actual IELTS result in Reading. For Writing and Speaking, the AI feedback was accurate - my Speaking score matched the predicted band almost exactly. I am not sure if I would rely on the Reading practice alone for final score prediction. It may be worth cross-referencing with Cambridge official practice materials."

"My company required Band 7.5 for an internal promotion that involved working with the UK office. I gave myself eight weeks. I focused entirely on Writing because that was always my weakest skill - I was at 6.0 and needed 7.5. I used the AI feedback daily and specifically acted on every single suggestion rather than just reading them. By week six I noticed my Coherence score in the AI feedback had moved from 6 to 7, and my Task Achievement from 6 to 7.5. I got exactly 7.5 in Writing on exam day. The specificity of the roadmap after each essay is what made the difference."

"The diagnostic test at the start was a useful way to identify where I was losing marks. It correctly identified my Reading weakness - I consistently lose marks on True/False/Not Given questions, not because I don't understand the passage but because I misread what 'Not Given' means. The AI explanation of that distinction was clearer than anything in my IELTS books. My Reading score went from 6.5 to 7.5. Speaking practice was less useful for me because I prefer practising with a real human but I understand why others value it."

"I was scoring 7.0 overall but needed 7.5 for my Canadian PR application. The gap was always Writing at 6.5. mockDe's multi-agent feedback system is legitimately impressive - I could see four separate scores for my essay and each one with specific reasons. What changed my score was the Lexical Resource feedback specifically. I was using the same vocabulary I'd memorised from templates. The AI kept flagging it as 'repetitive' and 'formulaic.' Once I started writing more naturally instead of from templates, my Lexical score went from 6 to 7.5. Final IELTS result: Writing 7.5. Canadian PR application submitted."

"Overall a genuinely useful preparation platform. My one feedback is that the Speaking practice sessions sometimes feel repetitive when you have been using the platform for more than a month - the Part 2 cue card topics do cycle if you practise daily. I understand it is difficult to generate unlimited unique content. My Speaking improved from 6.0 to 7.0 in about six weeks, which is what I needed for my nursing registration in Australia. The pronunciation coaching around word stress was the most valuable specific feature for me."

"I sat IELTS for the first time in my life after four weeks on mockDe. I had no previous formal IELTS preparation. I scored 7.5 overall - Reading 8.0, Listening 8.0, Writing 7.0, Speaking 7.0. The mock tests gave me the exam stamina I needed (I had underestimated how tiring a 3-hour exam is when English isn't your first language) and the Writing feedback was honest and specific. I had friends who spent months at coaching centres and scored lower. I would recommend starting with the diagnostic test and then building a daily routine from what it tells you."

"The AI tutor is excellent for concept explanations. I asked it to explain the difference between coherence and cohesion in IELTS Writing - the explanation was clearer and more practical than any YouTube video I had watched. Where I found limitations was in the Speaking feedback for very fast speakers. I speak quickly by nature and some feedback about 'hesitation' felt inaccurate - I wasn't hesitating, I was simply pacing between thoughts. I adjusted my pace and the scores aligned better. Useful overall but I think very fast speakers may need to recalibrate their expectations from the Speaking analysis."

"I am a teacher who wanted to understand the platform from a student's perspective before recommending it to my IELTS classes. I used it for four weeks across all four skills. The Writing feedback is genuinely at examiner-level specificity - it correctly identified that I was using the passive voice excessively in Task 1 reports (a common teacher habit that harms Grammatical Range scoring). The Band 8 vs Band 9 examples in the Speaking guide helped me understand the nuance of 'precision' that my students often miss. I now recommend mockDe to my students who cannot afford daily coaching sessions."

"I signed up expecting a full-featured mock test experience on the free tier. The free plan gives you access to the diagnostic test and some basic features, but AI Writing feedback requires premium. I understand the business model but I wish the free vs premium distinction were clearer before signing up - I didn't realise until after I'd set up my profile. The platform looks strong from what I sampled. If you go in knowing premium is required for AI feedback, your expectations will match the experience. If you assume AI feedback is fully free, you will be disappointed."
